For about four years, Mr. Akbar Azwir had been dreaming of making his own company that is based on his interest and expertise of project management. He thinks this would be an opportunity for people to acknowledge project management as a business by providing service in training and service. Hence, a couple of months ago, he started his own business called MagnaQM, providing resources and training for project management, and became a member of EV Hive The Breeze.

Starting his business in his late 30s and still working on his own do not stop him from working day and night to achieve his visions for MagnaQM, which is to become a major company in the future by finding the right partners to cooperate with. Nonetheless, he admits that making a business from scratch is not easy, knowing that his competitors are big companies which already have sufficient sources and budgets. Learning from his experience, Mr. Akbar has some tips for young entrepreneurs who are willing to build their business.

Firstly, just go for it. Once you have an idea, do not delay to act and make it happen. Build your own startup with your own ideas. You still have much time in your hands, just do it and go all the way. Mr. Akbar reminds us about the infamous quote: “when there is a will, there is a way. “

Secondly, follow your instinct and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. This means that in order to be a good businessman, you have to be fearless. You will need to try new things and take risks. It’s time for you to make mistakes, fix it, and learn some lessons from them.

The last one is to “learn like a newbie, work like a pro”, as told by Mr. Akbar himself. You should always be thirsty of knowledge. Never stop learning! Nevertheless, strive to be professional to everyone and to always give your 100%. Dedication is a must
